Peer Reviewer Policy

Peer review is central to maintaining the quality and integrity of the Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture (JPAA). Editors are responsible for managing the peer review process in accordance with the following guidelines:

Selection of Reviewers

Editors must select reviewers based on their expertise, experience, and impartiality. Reviewers should have no conflict of interest with the manuscript or authors.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts sent for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, copy, or discuss the manuscript with others without permission.

Timely and Constructive Evaluations

Editors should request reviews with clear deadlines and encourage reviewers to provide timely and constructive feedback to avoid delays. Reviewers should be asked to provide honest, unbiased, and constructive evaluations focusing on the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of the work.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. Editors must reassign manuscripts if a conflict is identified.

Training and Guidance

Editors should provide clear instructions and guidance to reviewers regarding the journal’s expectations and review criteria.

Acknowledgment of Reviewers

Editors should recognize the contributions of reviewers, maintaining their anonymity unless reviewers consent to be identified.

Handling Misconduct

If reviewers identify ethical concerns or possible misconduct, editors should investigate these concerns promptly and confidentially, following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Guidelines.
