Data Availability Policy

The Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture (JPAA) is committed to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in research. Authors are required to make the data underlying their research findings available, accessible, and verifiable to the extent ethically and legally possible.

This policy applies to all types of data, including but not limited to:

  • Raw experimental data
  • Processed data
  • Statistical analyses
  • Software code
  • Supplementary material (e.g., tables, figures)

Data Availability Statement

All submitted manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement indicating where and how the data supporting the findings can be accessed. This statement should be placed at the end of the manuscript before the references.

Examples of acceptable statements:

  • “The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
  • “All data generated or analyzed during this study are included in this published article and its supplementary information files.”
  • “Data are available in [name of public repository], accessible at [DOI or URL].”

Public Repositories

Authors are encouraged to deposit their data in recognized open-access repositories, especially those appropriate to their research field. Examples include:

  • Dryad
  • Figshare
  • Zenodo
  • Mendeley Data
  • GenBank, GEO, or other discipline-specific repositories

Confidential or Restricted Data

If the data cannot be shared due to confidentiality, legal, or ethical concerns, authors must clearly explain the restrictions in the Data Availability Statement. In such cases, authors should provide as much metadata or aggregated data as possible to support reproducibility.

Reviewer and Editorial Access

Authors must be prepared to provide their data to reviewers or editors upon request during the peer review process to verify the validity of the results.

Compliance and Enforcement

Failure to comply with this policy may result in delays in peer review or publication. In cases of data unavailability without valid justification, the manuscript may be rejected.
