Editorial Independence Policy

The integrity and credibility of the Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture (JPAA) depend on the independence of its editorial decision-making. To ensure this, all editors must adhere to the following principles regarding editorial independence:

Autonomy in Decision-Making

Editors have full authority and responsibility to make decisions on the acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts based solely on scholarly merit, relevance, and quality, without interference from external parties.

Protection from External Influence

Editorial decisions must be free from any influence or pressure from the journal’s owners, sponsors, advertisers, or any other stakeholders that could compromise the impartiality of the editorial process. Editors are responsible for upholding and developing editorial policies that protect editorial independence and uphold the journal’s ethical standards.

Separation from Commercial Interests

Editors should ensure that commercial considerations (e.g., advertising revenue, marketing partnerships) do not influence editorial content, manuscript evaluation, or publication decisions.

Transparency and Accountability

Editors should document their decision-making process and be prepared to justify their decisions if questioned, ensuring transparency and accountability in editorial practices.

Reporting Violations

Any attempt to interfere with editorial independence must be promptly reported to the Editor-in-Chief or appropriate governing body, and appropriate measures should be taken to address such breaches.
