Ethical Oversight Policy

The Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Editors are responsible for overseeing ethical conduct throughout the editorial process. The following guidelines apply:

  • Editors must ensure that all manuscripts comply with accepted ethical standards for research and publication, including honesty, transparency, and respect for intellectual property.
  • Editors should be vigilant for possible research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, duplicate publication, and unethical authorship practices.
  • Upon suspicion or allegation of misconduct, editors should follow a fair and confidential investigation process, consulting with the Editor-in-Chief, editorial board, and, if necessary, the authors’ institutions or funding bodies.
  • Editors should apply relevant guidelines such as those from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to guide decisions related to ethical issues.
  • When errors or ethical breaches are confirmed post-publication, editors must take appropriate corrective actions, including issuing corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as warranted.
  • All investigations should be conducted with strict confidentiality, ensuring fairness to all parties involved.
  • Editors should maintain awareness of evolving ethical standards and promote ethical education among authors, reviewers, and editorial colleagues.
