Conflict of Interest Policy

To maintain the integrity, fairness, and credibility of the editorial process, all editors of the Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture (JPAA) must adhere to the following conflict of interest guidelines:

  • A conflict of interest occurs when an editor’s personal, professional, or financial interests could compromise or appear to compromise their impartiality in handling a manuscript.
  • Editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest as soon as they arise. This includes relationships with authors, institutions, sponsors, or any other entities related to the manuscript. When an editor identifies a conflict of interest related to a manuscript (such as a close collaboration, personal relationship, financial ties, or competitive interests), they must immediately recuse themselves from managing the manuscript.
  • Conflicted editors should notify the editorial office or Editor-in-Chief to have the manuscript reassigned to an impartial editor. Editors must act transparently and responsibly to avoid any perception of bias or favoritism. The journal reserves the right to take appropriate action if undisclosed conflicts are discovered.
  • Beyond specific manuscripts, editors should also avoid conflicts that could undermine the trust in their editorial duties and the journal’s reputation.
