Withdrawal & Retraction Policy

The Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture (JPAA) is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. This policy outlines the procedures for the withdrawal and retraction of manuscripts to ensure transparency and uphold ethical standards.

Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript before the completion of peer review. Such requests must be submitted in writing, explaining the reason for withdrawal. Withdrawal requests after acceptance or publication are discouraged and may only be considered under exceptional circumstances. Frequent or unjustified withdrawal requests may lead to the authors being banned from submitting to the Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture in the future.

Manuscript Retraction

Retraction is a mechanism to correct the literature and alert readers to articles that contain significant errors or ethical breaches. The Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture will issue a retraction notice under the following circumstances:

  • Clear evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.
  • The findings are unreliable due to honest error or misconduct.
  • Duplicate publication without proper citation or permission.
  • Evidence of ethical violations related to the research or publication process.

Retractions will be clearly identified and linked to the original article, which will remain on public record but marked as retracted.

Corrections and Expressions of Concern

In cases where minor errors do not invalidate the findings, the Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture may issue a correction or erratum instead of a full retraction. An expression of concern may be published if there are unresolved issues about the integrity of the article pending investigation.

Process

Retraction decisions are made by the editorial board in consultation with authors and, if necessary, institutional representatives. The Journal of Pure and Applied Agriculture follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines when handling retractions and withdrawals. Authors will be notified of any retraction or withdrawal decision and given the opportunity to respond.

Transparency

All withdrawal and retraction notices will be publicly available and linked to the original publication to maintain transparency and accountability.
