Submission Guidelines

Research articles submitted for publishing in MEI are subject to initial editorial screening, double blind peer review by at least two experts of the relevant field and further editorial review.

  • Article must not only be the unpublished original research work but also should not be under consideration for publication in any other means of publication at the same time.
  • It must not contain anything which is contradictory to basic Islamic principles.
  • Article must be composed on one side of A4 size paper, in correct language and free from spelling/grammatical mistakes.
  • Verses of the Holy Quran and Ahadees must be mentioned accurately and with authenticity.
  • Research articles submitted for publishing must not be of more than 20 pages.
  • Articles must be written in Urdu/ English /Arabic.
  • Submission must be in accordance with the rules of Research methodology.
  • Submission should be a significant contribution to new or existing knowledge.
  • Title of the research article should be new, precise and relevant to the field of Islamic social sciences, law, history, culture, economics and humanities in Islamic perspectives.
  • To submit your paper, you must be registered with MEI Online Journal System. Open https://mei.aiou.edu.pk/?page_id=205, click Register link to register yourself otherwise click on login link:as attachment in MS Word format with Alvi Nastaleeeq font for Urdu and Muhammadi Quranic Font for Arabic.
  • Each article must be submitted with an abstract of approximately 200 words in English language.
  • References must be in accordance with Chicago manual of style and given at the end of the article.All References must be in English included Urdu & Arabic articles.(for details and examples access the given link: http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org).
  • For internet or web references author must provide complete URL.
  • Research article should contain title, Abstract, keyword, introduction, discussion, conclusion, findings, recommendations and references.
  • Standard Transliteration must be followed for Urdu/Arabic words in Urdu, Arabic and English articles.
