Abstract: Punjab is a land of unmatched beauty and fertility. Invaders from all over the world attracted towards it due to its richness. These invaders brought their culture, civilization and language with them. That’s why other civilizations and languages put an effect here. Punjabi language and literature due to its flexibility, can accept the words, idioms, genres and themes from borrowed sources but pours its flavor in them to enhance its charm. Arabic is such a language which has deep effect on Punjabi language. Being a religious language of the muslims, it has stronger impact on Punjabi literature and language regarding vocabulary, genres, and themes. In this article, and attempt has been made to analyze these impacts on classical Punjabi poetry with suitable instances.
