Abstract

This article entitled "منهج العلامة عبدالعزيز في تحقيق المنقوص والممدود" deals with the method of Allama Abdul Aziz Memon during the editing of a mamuscript "Manqoos & Mamdood" written by Farra. Allama Abdul Aziz Memon (1888-1978) is one of those Pakistani writers and researchers who engaged himself for promotion of Arabic Language and literature throughout the life. He appears to be the leader and master of this area. Through his work like “Manqoos & Mamdood” he contributed a lot in the area of editing the manuscripts. Through deep study of his style and work, it appears that his style of editing was known for its characteristics. So, I divided this article in three parts. The first part presents the introduction to the writer and his manuscript. The second part is about the Allama Abdul Aziz Memon. The third and the final part consist of the methodology of researcher during the eiditing of Manqoos and Mamdood. His methodlogy consists of lot of literary and technical beauties and qualities which may be summarized as follows. Correction of the text, very deep view, defence of realities, comparison among various views and manuscripts, deep study about aditing the manuscripts, total control over the languages and editing.
