Abstract

Legends was made by the primitive human to reduce his fears and limits the unknowns, it was a way to reason with reality and strange accuracies that didn't have apparent reasons. The human nature was what drove him to make a language to talk, and to find a belief to embrace.

The literal meaning of legend can be one of three possibilities: the origin of line and writing, the collective meaning of its numbers, and the lies and speech that has no proof to support it.

In practical meaning, people couldn't find a way to explain it, so everyone explained it in their own way, it's thought that the difficulty in defining its practical form is due to the inability to experience it directly, which doesn't give a clear picture of what it is .

Some researchers say that a legend is made through a theory and a practice was made for it, while other says the exact opposite is what happened.

The legend can be of types: a religious legend, a reasonable legend,a symbolic legend, and a historical legend.

The most accepted theory is the reasonable legend.

The difference between myth and legend is in the view of people, a legend for people is real incident while myth is an imaginary incident. Yet they are included in the same category of folklore.

The legends and poem has a deep relationship with each other. As they both are results of the imagination and creation of man. They coexist together. the poem can not be created with out legends and their symbolism.

The Malhama is literary work that proof the  link between the legend and poems.  language is the real link between these two, it's the eye from where the water poured with the ideas for poems to write about.
