Abstract

Elegy is talking about the virtues of the deceased and praising his good qualities, such as courage, chastity and generosity.

We find various purposes of Elegy in Arabic and Urdu poetry. There is Elegy for the family, relatives, brother, sister, mother and father.

Elegy poems are the closest outlet for strong emotion, sadness, anguish, and lamentation.

Ahmed Shawqi, the most famous poet of the Arab era. He is called the Prince of Poets. In his poems, he used various arts and colours of poetry, from praise to description, to political and social poetry.

The issue of Hussاin and Karbala occupied a sacred place in the poetry of Shawqi and Josh Malih Abadi.
