Abstract

Al-Muheet Al-Burhani by Imam Mahmood bin Sadr Al-Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad bin Sadr Al-Kabir Bahauddin Abdul Aziz bin Umar Maaza is a renowned compendium of Hanafi jurisprudence that meticulously organizes legal principles and rulings. This paper examines the methodology, structuring principles, and scholarly value of Al-Muheet Al-Burhani, highlighting how Ibn Maaza’s systematic approach to resolving legal issues under foundational principles and jurisprudential rules elevated this work to a pivotal reference in Hanafi jurisprudential studies. The study reveals that Al-Muheet Al-Burhani discusses not only Hanafi legal issues but also addresses Usul al-Fiqh (jurisprudential principles) and theological matters, making it an indispensable resource for students and researchers in Islamic law. Recommendations include integrating Al-Muheet Al-Burhani into the curricula of Islamic institutions and translating it into modern languages to facilitate broader academic access across diverse legal schools of thought.
