Abstract

Yusuf Idrees (1927-1991), an Egyptian literary figure was known for his short stories, novels, dramas and columns. He wrote more than one hundred and ten short stories and his thirteen books of short stories were published between 1954 to 1987.His first book “The cheapest Nights”was published in 1954.Yousuf had a lot of variety of themes in his short stories.His valuable stories although focus on commitment to the country and the nation. His work was also translated into English.A vast academic research has been carried out on his short stories and novels in different Arab and non-Arab universities of the world.

My article, “The Patriotism through short stories of yousuf Idreees”focuses on different methods he used to convey his love to his country.Furthermore, it is the study of those unknown soldiers of war who sacrificed for the sake of their nation.Moreover, it also highlights the loyalty of common people who sacrificed for their homeland.In addition, my work also portrays the thoughts of traitors mentioned in the stories of YousufIdrees.
