Abstract

ABSTRACT

Elegy is one of the oldest and most thoughtful arts of the poetry, because it reflects the human’s feelings and actions in a true sense. It explains the feelings of heart and loneliness in a beautiful manner and expresses the spiritual and intuitive feelings directly on the reader’s hearts.

Women had got the tremendous experience in the art of Elegiac poetry. In Pre-Islamic period there are so many poetesses who expressed their feelings in elegiac poetry either on the death of their beloved one or inspire to get revenge. As by nature woman is a kind hearted creature, so she expresses her sorrows and grieves either by shedding the tears or in a poetic way better than that of man.

In Pre-Islamic poetry, woman had played the vital rple particularly in the field of elegiac poetry and surpassed the man by expressing her feelings.

The above mentioned article sheds the light on the following prostitutes:

Inpact of environment and incidents on women’s elegiac poetry.

Use of similes and nature beauty in Pre-Islamic and Islamic poetry by the poetesses.

Use of imaginations by poetesses in the particular periods.

Finaly it is cleared that the poetesses of Islamic period were found to be more impressed by the incidents and the environment in their elegiac poetry than that of Pre-Islamic poetesses. Furthermore the poetesses were learned to be impressed by the nature beauty of the both periods while the poetry of Pre-Islamic period had used kindness, bravery and nobility in a better way.
