Abstract

That was adopted by many writers in developing their literary works in agreement with the change that occurred in their societies and their development, through multiple means, the most important of which was analyzing the depths of the human self, and the past reflections it contains whether times, places or people. “Akhtar Jamal” is one of the female Urdu writers who adopted this narrative style that delves into the reader’s consciousness and perception, and does not neglect his psychological and subconscious vision. This is clearly evident in her collection of short stories, “Samjhot Express,” which reflects the shadows of the past to influence the reader through (nostalgia), It stimulates his feeling of nostalgia for the past, which in turn increases his awareness of his present, which has become linked to many dimensions and problems.
