Principles of Prophetic Dawah in the light of Quranic Seerah
Abstract
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) laid down the principles of preaching Islam, which, if followed, can lead to success in the mission of conveying the message of Islam. He (peace be upon him) himself acted upon these principles while inviting people to the faith. Among the key principles of this invitation were:
He gave glad tidings of Paradise to those who embraced faith, and warned of the punishment of Hell for those who rejected it. His method of preaching was based on the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the recitation of the Qur’an.
He invited people with gentleness, wisdom, moderation, and good character.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) invited people to Islam through his excellent character, which inspired love for him in their hearts, and as a result, they embraced Islam. He purified people's hearts from disbelief and polytheism, a process known as Tazkiyah al-Nafs (purification of the soul).
