Horse riding was one of the most noble qualities that distinguished the Arabs among the people, and Islam encouraged it after its advent. It is one of the praiseworthy qualities that the Arabs, who were famous in the past for their strength, courage, and steadfastness in all crises and circumstances they faced, persisted in. With horsemanship and courage, they defended the weak and everyone who wanted protection, in addition to their appearance on the fields of battle, fighting, and defending souls and honour. Horse riding is closely linked to courage, and it was not limited to men and not women. Many of their famous women were characterized by Horse riding, and because of the status of horse riding among them, their poems, poems, sayings, and proverbs abounded. They also appreciated personalities who had stories and heroism in courage and horsemanship. It speaks with the voice of the writer and discloses the pain of peoples, as we note the interest of most novelists on political issues in general, and social issues in particular. The social dimension is the most obvious in this fictional literary genre, because it addresses issues and problems of various types, and contributes greatly to building society and its advancement, if it is treated and dealt with in positive ways, and it may have a negative impact on society if it continues to be dealt with in accordance with the customs of society. and strict traditions. And it deals with our topic marked by the social dimension in the novel Behind the Hyena by Dr. Ahmed Al-Zoubi, in which he dealt with different social dimensions that society suffered from, such as the customs of revenge, issues of honor, enmities, marginalization of the desert, and not listening to their demands. And hatred in times of drought and distress, and their standing next to each other at times of prosperity and rain, as he talked about the city’s society, which he described as the brother does not know his brother, the son does not know his mother, and the thief stole when he was safe from punishment, and the murderer was killed when he was punished with admonition, and I will talk about these issues in detail in this research.

Keywords: novel, desert, the city, hyena, revenge
Dr.. It is a new art in terms of form, style, and method of approach. Besides, it is a non-objective story wherein readers feel lost in its warrens; being not committed to certain rules in its writing. It also does not adhere to the logical coherence and chronological sequence of events. It relies on several techniques and special codes. It does not deal with human beings in their physical or tangible forms, either. Rather, it is concerned with depicting the psychological state, the depths of humanity, and the feelings, sensations, worries, and pains that surround it.

Intizar Hussein is considered the pioneer of the abstractionist story. His stories generally tend towards ambiguity and vagueness, and he tends to write internal thoughts and move towards the winged mythical realm of imagination. The story of “ vo Joe khoee he” or “The Missing” expresses is a good example of the abstractionist story, of the “Shahr of Ephesus” anthology. This story reveals the psychological crisis suffered by peoples who are exposed to occupation, wars, and sometimes migration. The story sheds light on the issue of identity dissolution and civilizational and cultural nostalgia.
The science of interpretation (Tafseer) is defined as understanding the Qura’an revealed to His Prophet Muhammad, (PBUH), explaining its meanings, extracting its rulings and wisdom. This study stands out for its monitoring of an American novelist's attempt to shed light on some of the prevailing perceptions of Arabs and Muslims in the West, in light of the repercussions of the events of September 11, 2001 on the relationship between the West and the Islamic East. It deals with the novel that has not yet been translated into Arabic, nor are studies available in Arabic yet, by exploring the story of the conflict drawn by the novel that took place in the past between the two parties and begins with the Battle of Hattin and ends with the failure of the Third Crusade (1188-1192) and the signing of an agreement between Saladin and Richard the Lionheart. Field continues to work as a balanced writer who defends the accused Arabs and Muslims through the scenes of his novel, exposing Western allegations and subjective assumptions about Arabs and Muslims and refuting them, in a distinct artistic, historical, dialogue style in several places in the novel, which are often linked to terrorism, backwardness and a state of hostility against the West. To illustrate this issue, the narrator deliberately formulates a dialogue between two sane characters from opposing camps, Pierre and Rachid that continues until the end of the novel. As a result, this novel can be described as one of the most objective American works in its portrayal of Arab and Muslim issues, as it criticizes intolerance, aggression, and cruelty, calls for understanding, and hints at the possibilities of that relationship in the present and future. The study uses a descriptive and analytical method to explore and comment on aspects of the historical narration of events. It refers to the fictional text as a primary source and to some historical works as secondary references issued on the novel in English or on the relevant period.

Keywords: Richard Warren Field, The Swords of Faith, Third Crusade, Saladin, Richard the Lionheart, Islam and the West, Modern American Novel.
Fuad Abdul Muttaleb Copyright (c) 2023 JAR https://ojs.aiou.edu.pk/index.php/jar/article/view/1969 Mon, 12 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0000
